PRN - Neurodiagnostic Technologist Vincennes, IN, United States
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Job Duties:
Performs technically adequate and interpretable EEG's, EP's, and NCV's on a wide variety of patients. These include outpatients and inpatients; patients ranging in age from pediatric patients six years of age and up to geriatrics, and patients varying in degree of disability and seriousness of illness. Assist Neurologist with EMG testing. Maintains Neurology laboratories and equipment so that they are functioning safely and at the level of quality control needed. Performs machine calibrations and maintenance as required and per policy. Correspond and communicates with neurologist, other physicians and nursing staff as needed. Assists in routine scheduling and coordinates schedule with Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist to manage periods of excessive or special testing requests. Performs periodic ordering of necessary supplies for department functions. Accurately enters appropriate charges into hospital order control system. Completes all the required department documentation including testing reports. Completes other duties and special projects as assigned. Maintains knowledge of current Standards of Care and Departmental Policy and Procedures. Applies this knowledge to daily procedures and testing. Secondary Job Duties That May be
Reassigned:
Assists with department office duties. Participates in departmental performance improvement activities. Participates in cost savings initiatives for the department. Participates in on-going growth and development of the Neuro-diagnostic department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Job Specifications:
Education:
Minimum of High School Graduate Neurodiagnostic technical training preferred.
Experience:
Prior healthcare experience. Employee will obtain a professional credentialing within 5 years of start date.
