- Job Summary and Qualifications
- The Neurodiagnostic Technician performs routine and complex diagnostic testing in the laboratory and in critical care areas in accordance with hospital policies and national standards. The EEG Tech calibrates and sets measuring parameters and reports findings to the physician for analysis and interpretation. - What you will do in this role:
- + •You will review the patient's medical record and assess the patient to determine their physical and emotional needs.
- + •You will communicate information about the test and explain the testing procedure to the patient and/or family.
- + •You will identify and correct for artifacts before forwarding results to the attending physician.
- + •You will assist in maintaining EEG equipment and supplies.
- What qualifications you will need:
- + •EEG training to include minimal standards for clinical EEG testing as established by The American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists.
- + •ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists)•+ •Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist Program or 3 years experience performing EEGs in a clinical setting.
