The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrophysiology, neurodiagnostic testing, and patient care, with a focus on nerve conduction studies and related neurological assessments. As a Nerve Conduction Technologist, you will play a vital role in performing specialized testing to assist neurologists in diagnosing neurological disorders. Your expertise in neurophysiological procedures, equipment operation, and patient monitoring will contribute significantly to accurate diagnosis and effective patient management within a fast-paced clinical environment. We will provide on-the-job training to someone who doesn't have experience for the right fit. Responsibilities Perform nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG) procedures with precision, following established protocols and safety standards. Operate and maintain sophisticated neurodiagnostic equipment, including electrophysiology monitoring systems and neurological devices. Monitor vital signs and patient responses throughout testing procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Assist neurologists with diagnostic evaluations by preparing patients, explaining procedures, and documenting test results accurately. Apply aseptic techniques during invasive procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Interpret preliminary data from electrophysiology testing to support clinical decision-making processes. Maintain detailed records of test results, equipment calibration, and quality control measures in compliance with hospital policies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in neurocritical care settings, including Level I Trauma Centers and emergency medicine units, to provide comprehensive patient monitoring and diagnostic support. Requirements Certification or licensure as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist with specialization in nerve conduction studies; additional credentials in electromyography (EMG) are preferred but not required. Proven experience performing neurodiagnostic testing within Level I trauma centers or similar high-acuity environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, neuroanatomy, medical terminology, and neurological diagnostics. Proficiency operating medical equipment related to electrophysiology testing, including patient monitoring systems and neurological devices. Familiarity with advanced neurocritical care practices and emergency medicine protocols is highly desirable. Excellent understanding of diagnostic test interpretation, especially in neurology-related assessments such as electroencephalography (EEG) and electromyography (EMG). Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in urgent situations involving trauma or critical neurological conditions. Strong communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
