Job Summary and Qualifications Our Neurodiagnostic Assistant will p erform continuous observation of EMU (Epileptic Monitor Unit) patient/s and add comments as needed; You will utilize skill and knowledge of video monitoring system and camera controls and set up equipment before testing according to department policy
- You will perform minor adjustment of electrodes if EEG tech not available; disconnect patient/s according to department policy; clean and restock EMU equipment according to department policy
- Facilitate workflow of department with a variety of skills such as burning CDs, cleaning other equipment, follow up to Physician Reports and other office skills
- Restock work areas of Neurodiagnostic Department with necessary supplies and notifies when supplies need to be ordered. Keep work areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety.
- Take and document vital signs
- Assist patients with ADLs and toileting
- Perform Seizure assessment protocol What qualifications you will need:
- Possess entry level PC or Microsoft Windows knowledge
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of start date
- Associate Degree is preferred
American Epilepsy Society:
EMU Caring Modules are required (within first 6 months)Nihon Khoden:
Basic EEG Acquisition and Review are also required (within first 6 months)- 12 months experience in medical setting is required
