Job Description

The Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides clinical expertise and operational leadership within the Nuclear Medicine department. This role combines advanced technical proficiency with supervisory responsibilities to ensure high quality diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services, regulatory compliance, staff development, and optimal patient care. Perform and oversee nuclear medicine procedures, including diagnostic imaging and therapeutic administrations, in accordance with physician orders, protocols, and regulatory standards. Serve as the clinical expert for nuclear medicine procedures, radiopharmaceutical handling, imaging protocols, and equipment operation. Assesses patient's understanding of process and procedure. Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of change in patient's condition during exam. Responsible for the safe handling of equipment. Lead, mentor, and support Nuclear Med Techs and ancillary staff. Assist with staff scheduling, workflow optimization, and coverage planning. Participate in radiation safety programs, audits, and quality assurance initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation related to radiopharmaceutical usage, dose administration, and equipment quality control. Technologist charges accurately, through the computer system, each exam at the completion of the test. Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Current ARRT(N) and /or NMTCB certification Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nuclear medicine experience.
