•3:00 PM 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) Position Overview This is a hospital-based Nuclear Medicine position supporting a variety of diagnostic imaging and patient care needs. This role will operate within a single-technologist department model , providing a unique opportunity for an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to help establish workflows and contribute to the development of a brand-new department. Preferred Qualifications Candidates with the following experience are preferred: Nuclear Medicine experience Ability to work independently Comfort working in a new department build-out environment Strong critical thinking and organizational skills Call Requirements No call requirement No after-hours coverage expectations due to the single-technologist department structure Rotating holiday coverage may be required Additional Information Please note that this is a new facility, and schedules may evolve as operational needs become clearer following the hospital's opening. The schedule listed above reflects the anticipated hours at launch. Planned start dates for these positions are March 2027 . Team members will complete orientation and training prior to the facility opening on May 1, 2027 .
Training may include rotations through:
Ball Memorial Hospital Existing Fort Wayne outpatient locations The new Fort Wayne hospital department prior to opening These rotations are designed to provide exposure to a wide variety of procedures and patient populations that may not currently be available in local Fort Wayne outpatient settings. Most positions will participate in a rotating holiday schedule. Incentives Sign-on bonuses are available for qualified candidates.
Job Duties, Tasks and Qualifications:
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving the use of radiopharmaceuticals to perform body function studies, organ imaging, and analyze biologic specimen. Demonstrates the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Requires a strong understanding of the handling of radiopharmaceuticals during the receipt; storage; administration; and disposal process. Requires knowledge of proper laboratory procedures and a strong understanding of all hospital; state and federal policies and regulations regarding the handling of radioactive materials; hazardous chemicals; and body fluids. Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning. Requires active status through one of the following:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists:
Registered Technologist
•Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Nuclear Medicine within 6 months of hire. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, if you are required to perform SPECT/CT or PET/CT you will be required to obtain Computed Tomography (CT) certification within 18 months of hire through ARRT or NMTCB.
