Nuclear Medicine Technologist Cancer Center/Radiation Non-Exempt -Full Time

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

By or under the direction of the requesting physician or the reading physician, perform ordered examinations of patients for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of Utah Cancer Specialists and / or reading physician. Performs or assists in the preparation and administration of PRRT treatments and other radiopharmaceutical treatments. Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs. Under guidelines of set practices, administers contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols. Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient. Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members. Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of injection and scan rooms. Completes necessary administrative tasks. i.e.: time reports, billing, QA, etc. Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality. Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures. Complies with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety. Maintains current licensure and permits to practice. Performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

A.R.R.T. (N) and/or NMTCB and State License are required. A minimum of one year of prior nuclear medicine experience preferred but not required. Must be proficient in starting IVs. PET/CT experience
