NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist administers radioactive materials in order to perform imaging and dynamic function studies necessary in order to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of illnesses. Prepares radioactive isotopes, operates Nuclear Imaging and performs a variety of nuclear tests. Complies with performance measures/activities to assure that patient/customer satisfaction results are consistently maintained. HOURS:

1.0 FTE/80 hours every two weeks working days (7am to 330pm), Monday-Friday Experience/Qualifications Knowledge of nuclear medicine standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a formal Nuclear Medicine program approved by ARRT or NMTCB. One-year clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist necessary to enhance and develop skills preferred but not required Possesses and maintains ARRT(N) or NMTCB at hire. Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and nuclear techniques, procedures and equipment such as planar imaging, S.P.E.C.T. imaging, nuclear cardiology and computer processing. Demonstrates mature judgment and the ability to make appropriate decisions with a minimum of supervision. Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality with regard to the operation and interaction of the department and the hospital.
