Summary:
Critical Access Hospital in Bar Harbor, Maine is seeking a CRNA to join an all-CRNA team with 17 weeks off annually. The role offers independent practice (must perform blocks; willing to train motivated candidates), covers CAH bread-and-butter cases (no OB), and provides anesthesia services for Surgical, Critical Care, Emergency, and Medical areas at MDIH.Benefits:

Graduate from an NLN accredited School of Nursing. Holds current Maine RN/APNP license. Graduate from accredited School of Anesthesia. Current Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification. CurrentBLS/ACLS/PALS
certification required. Allied Health Member of the MDIH Medical Staff.Experience Required:
Minimum five years staff anesthetist experience preferred. Experience with general, regional, and local anesthetic techniques. Experience with regional blocks preferred. Experience in general surgical, urological, ophthalmologic, vascular, gynecological and orthopedic procedures.Special Requirements:
Proficient IV access skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Emotional maturity and good people skills required.Cognitive Requirements:
Ability to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations. Ability to prioritize workload. Ability to work calmly and effectively in emergency situations and cope effectively with stress. Ability to evaluate/anticipate surgeon's needs.Physical Demands:
Must have adequate hearing, vision, and manual dexterity. Must be able to engage in long periods of standing/sitting/walking. Must be able to engage in moderate to heavy lifting (25-50 lbs.). Must be able to push heavy objects (stretchers, anesthesia machines, carts). General health must be such as to work regularly scheduled hours and to meet the demands of an active position; including the ability to work for extended periods due to call responsibilities.Environment:
Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids. Potential for exposure to infectious diseases. Potential for exposure to periods of high stress. Requires use of telephone and VDT. Salary Description $97- $108
