Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Nurse Practitioner Team Coverage is responsible for providing direct patient care in assigned area. The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner provides integrated support to Anchorage Primary Care teams by partnering with providers and care teams to support customer-owners of all ages experiencing serious illness, serious injury, hospice-related needs, and other complex medical needs. This role works alongside an existing palliative care provider to improve symptom support, goals of care planning, care coordination, and connection to appropriate services across the continuum of care.
Qualifications:
SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF's geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF's vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services: Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Alaska. Current certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Meets all requirements in order to obtain associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
Native Preference:
Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.

You are required to agree that you will comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment.
