Responsibilities include therapeutic hypothermia (cooling), neonatal stabilization, and transfer coordination for patients requiring surgical intervention. The unit accepts neonates transferred from rural hospitals and coordinates transfer back to the appropriate receiving facility for any cases requiring surgery.
