providing advanced neonatal-perinatal medicine services, including therapeutic hypothermia and care for neonates transferred from rural facilities. The facility maintains established clinical protocols and appropriate staffing models, including 24-hour NP coverage and 1-2 MDs on staff, to support quality patient outcomes. Surgical cases exceeding the scope of the unit are coordinated for transfer to a higher-level facility. About the Facility Location Alabama offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of regional attractions and recreational opportunities throughout the year. The state features diverse landscapes, including coastal areas along the Gulf, rural settings, and a noted culinary tradition. Clinicians on assignment may explore natural areas, historic sites, and cultural destinations throughout the region during their time in the state. About the Clinician's Workday Clinicians will provide neonatal-perinatal medicine care through 24-hour shift coverage on an inpatient, on-site basis at a Level
III NICU
in Alabama, with call required as a component of each assigned shift. Responsibilities include therapeutic hypothermia (cooling), neonatal stabilization, and transfer coordination for patients requiring surgical intervention. The unit accepts neonates transferred from rural hospitals and coordinates transfer back to the appropriate receiving facility for any cases requiring surgery.
