A Certified Nurse Practitioner (FNP) delivers primary and preventive care services according to established protocols and under preceptorship of a designated physician. The Certified Nurse Practitioner provides primary care including counseling and referral as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains confidentiality of patients and corporate information; Provides care in accordance with the corporate Health Plan and written clinical protocols; Provides health promotion and education within both the center and the community; Develops preventive health plans for individuals and for community populations; Provides counseling to patients and families; Maintains and provides documentation as required by the Board of Medical and Board of Nursing entities; Maintains and provides up-to-date peer review evaluation in accordance with corporate policies; Participates in corporate Quality Management activities; Assists in special program activities as assigned; Accurately documents and codes all services provided within the allotted timeframes. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Certification as a nurse practitioner. License to practice with the State of Alabama. Two years experience as a nurse practitioner in public health or a community health setting preferred. Must have basic computer skills.
