Job Description
American Family Care is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality urgent and primary care in a busy, walk-in clinic. In this role, you'll independently evaluate patients of all ages, perform exams and procedures, order and interpret labs and x-rays, and prescribe appropriate treatments. You'll work with a collaborative clinical team in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment focused on accessibility, respect, and clinical excellence, with opportunities for ongoing training, professional growth, and community impact across AFC's expanding national network. Responsibilities Provide urgent and primary care to patients of all ages in a walk-in clinic setting Conduct comprehensive histories, physical exams, and formulate differential diagnoses Order, interpret, and act on lab tests and x-ray studies using on-site diagnostics Perform common urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment and follow-up plans Document all encounters accurately in the EMR in a timely manner Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care Support occupational medicine services, including work-related injuries and screenings Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, respect, and continuous improvement Required Skills Patient assessment and diagnosis Urgent care procedures (suturing, splinting, I&D) Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation Ordering and interpreting labs and x-rays Medication management and prescribing Occupational medicine evaluations Vaccination and preventive care Wound care and minor trauma management Patient education and discharge planning Interdisciplinary teamwork and communication
