Please send your resume and cover letter to A very busy Neurology practice in Los Angeles is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team of inpatient/hospital Neurology APP"s. Some Neurology experience is preferred. Will train the right candidate with the aptitude for Neurology. Responsible for providing expert specialty clinical care in various hospitals and skilled nursing facilities in LA proper as well as the possibility to expand into Orange County. Neurology NP assesses, plans and provides patient care in collaboration with the attending physician. Provides comprehensive health assessment, medical diagnosis of acute and chronic illnesses, writes prescriptions and formulates a treatment plan. Diagnoses neurological conditions. Plans and implements interventions in collaboration with the attending and consulting physicians. Completes documentation/charting on a daily basis utilizing various hospital based EMR systems. This is a part time position to transition to full time with some weekend commitment.
Essential Functions:
Interviews patients and/or family members. Constructs comprehensive medical histories. Performs neurological physical examinations. Works under the scope of practice of a nurse practitioner and as an agent of the physician. Directly performs or orders appropriate diagnostic studies and interprets finished results. Writes orders to increase, decrease, or change medication (subject to checking and medical consultation as indicated). Communicates effectively with other members of care team. Such as attending and consulting physicians, APP's nurses and allied health professionals.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Nurse Practitioner license in California Current DEA license Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification
