In this vital role, you will serve as an advanced practice provider, collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages. Your expertise will help improve health outcomes through comprehensive evaluations, innovative treatment plans, and patient education. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments in inpatient and outpatient settings including physical examinations, and medical history reviews in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state laws and collaborative practice agreements while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic for accurate documentation of medical records, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT procedures, and billing processes. Collaborate seamlessly with healthcare professionals across disciplines—such as surgeons or specialists in infectious disease care—to optimize patient outcomes. Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care for remote or underserved populations while maintaining high standards of patient communication and education. Experience Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, ICU, and more importantly in the field of gastroenterology. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and order entry. Strong background in managing routine and complex gastroenterology and hepatology cases. Prior work in outpatient clinics or medical offices providing primary care services. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, therapists, and case managers to deliver holistic patient-centered care.
