Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. Consult with staff physicians as needed. Within the course of a primary care visit prescribe appropriate medications, order necessary screening and diagnostic tests, and confers and refers for specialty care, when necessary. Performs health assessments and physical examinations for adults and children, develops patient plans and works with patients/families to develop self-management goals. As appropriate to the position, participates in specific health promotion, education and/or prevention programs. Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director.

Education and Experience:

Must have a current California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant medical license to practice. Must have a current California license issued by the Board of Registered Nurses/Medical Board of California. Current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs. Current BLS certification and current national certificate.
