Job Description

Alumni Healthcare Staffing seeks Internal Medicine physicians for locum tenens assignments across California. In this role, you will deliver inpatient and/or outpatient adult care, performing histories, physical exams, diagnostics, and evidence-based treatment for a range of acute and chronic conditions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, utilize EMR systems for accurate documentation, and follow site-specific protocols and quality metrics. Assignments offer flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, paid malpractice, and travel support, allowing you to impact patient care statewide while enjoying variety in practice settings. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient internal medicine care to adult patients Conduct histories, physical exams, differential diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment plans Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging Manage chronic and acute medical conditions, including medication management Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, nursing staff, and specialists to coordinate care Document all encounters accurately in the EMR and complete required charting on time Participate in handoffs, rounding, and interdisciplinary meetings as required by site Adhere to hospital/clinic policies, quality metrics, and regulatory standards Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care Ensure timely communication with Alumni Healthcare Staffing and client facility leadership Required Skills Internal medicine clinical expertise Patient assessment and diagnostic reasoning Chronic disease management Acute care management EMR documentation Care coordination Orders and procedures for adult medicine Regulatory and quality compliance Time management in high-volume settings Interdisciplinary communication
