Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) — Outpatient Psychiatry & Sleep Medicine (Part-Time) About us We're a small, established outpatient practice in Menlo Park focused on psychiatry and sleep medicine, two physicians and a therapist, known for thoughtful, unhurried care. We're cash-pay and out-of-network, which means more time per patient and no insurance treadmill. Our founder is dual board-certified in psychiatry and sleep medicine, and the practice has a strong local and national reputation. The role We're looking for a part-time psychiatric nurse practitioner (5-10 hours per week to start, with room to grow) to become a core prescriber on our team, managing an outpatient panel of adults with anxiety, depression, insomnia, and related concerns. You'll do full psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care, with real autonomy and physician colleagues a hallway away when you want to confer. We meet as a group weekly. An interest in sleep medicine, or willingness to build one, is a strong plus; it's central to who we are and how patients find us. What you'll do Conduct psychiatric evaluations and build individualized treatment plans for adult outpatients Manage and adjust medications within your scope and DEA regulations Follow patients over time, coordinating with our physicians and therapist as cases warrant See patients both in-office and via telehealth Document in our EHR (InSync) What we're looking for Current California licensure as a PMHNP (or eligible), with DEA registration Solid outpatient psychopharmacology experience with adult psychiatric patients Comfort working independently in a small practice, with good judgment about when to loop in a physician Warm, steady, unhurried manner; our patients choose us because we take the time A plus, not a requirement: interest or experience in sleep medicine and CBT-I (behavioral treatment of insomnia) Compensation & schedule Part-time, 5-10 hours per week to start, with potential to grow. $175 per patient-hour. This is an outpatient, patient-facing role with a flexible schedule. Why this role More time with patients, a collegial two-physician team that actually confers, and a practice with a real reputation and referral base rather than a volume mill. Room to grow into sleep, which few psychiatric NPs get to do.
