Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and identify medical issues. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Manage acute and chronic conditions, including complex cases requiring specialized interventions such as botulinum toxin treatment or pain management. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and medical records management. Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans effectively. Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, phlebotomy, catheterization, and sterile processing when necessary. Educate patients on health maintenance, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention strategies. Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance outpatient services. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient safety protocols. Experience Proven experience working as an advanced practice provider in outpatient clinics or similar healthcare environments. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management. Experience managing diverse patient populations across age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs. Background in acute care settings such as emergency medicine, hospital medicine, ICU, or trauma centers is highly valued. Knowledge of specialized procedures including spinal taps, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatments, and gastrostomy tube feeding is preferred. Familiarity with billing codes like CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD (International Classification of Diseases), ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of pharmacology for medication prescribing within DEA regulations and drug interactions. Prior experience working in behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, or senior/Memory care settings is advantageous. Ability to perform triage assessments over telehealth platforms or in-person visits efficiently while delivering exceptional patient care.
