A Nurse Practitioner provides primary care and nursing care to patients. Performs physical exams, orders diagnostic tests, and provides medications. Works in a physician's office or other healthcare facility, under the direction of a physician. Performs work similar to that of a physician assistant but has different medical training and degree.
My client is a Primary Care Family Practice in Centennial looking for someone with experience in Primary Care/ Aesthetics/ Urgent Care Walk Ins (Sutures/ Splints/Pain Management)/ Chronic Disease Care. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patient health status using advanced physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Prescribe medications, administer injections, and perform procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and dermal fillers with precision and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Manage acute pain, infectious diseases, behavioral health concerns, geriatrics, and complex medical conditions including dialysis and critical care scenarios. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation, intake processing, and medical records management. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive treatment plans and discharge strategies. Perform diagnostic assessments including sonography, laboratory specimen collection/processing, spinal taps, and basic life support procedures. Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining high standards of client communication and health coaching. Participate in clinical research projects or quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for billing purposes. Provide patient education on health maintenance, medication administration, nutrition, and disease prevention. Experience Candidates should demonstrate a minimum of three years of clinical experience encompassing diverse settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU or trauma centers (Level I or II experience preferred), nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Prior experience working with children, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is essential.
Additional qualifications include:
Expertise in advanced procedures such as gastroscopy preparation or spinal tap techniques. Familiarity with occupational health protocols and Workers' Compensation law. Experience managing complex cases involving hospice & palliative medicine or post-acute care settings. Knowledge of CPT coding standards for billing and documentation accuracy. Strong background in acute care environments including hospital medicine or urgent care settings. Skills in triage assessment, infection control practices, and sterile processing techniques.
