Greenwood Pediatrics is a leader in pediatric primary care and is known for its team approach to caring for children and their families. We are seeking a highly qualified, motivated and compassionate physician assistant or nurse practitioner to provide the best primary and preventive care to a medically diverse patient population. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Include, but not limited to, the following:
- Performs comprehensive and interval history and physical exams of patients with acute and chronic problems. Identifies differential diagnoses, assesses the severity of the illness and establishes priorities of care for the presenting problem/chief complaint
- Develops treatment plans and appropriate follow up care
- Conducts developmental and well child assessments for newborns to college age
- Communicates pertinent patient information to the primary team physician
- Educates patients and parents about their diagnoses and treatment plans
- Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests
- Obtains informed consents for proposed procedures
- Writes prescriptions per medical protocol; exercises prescriptive authority as outlined by Colorado statutes
- Documents patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) according to the guidelines established by the practice
- Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA requirements
- Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or other training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice
- Maintains appropriate professional affiliations
- Ability to travel to multiple clinic locations, if needed
- Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested
- Acts as a role model to other staff members
- Assists in the education of staff and precepted students
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Masters Degree
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program Licensure/Certifications
Nurse Practitioners:
must be licensed by the Colorado Dept. of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). Pediatric training required.
Physician Assistants:
must be NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants) certified or eligible and licensed by the Colorado Dept. of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). Pediatric training required.
