  • Board Certified Physician Assistant License Long term acute care experience Full Job Description Job Summary Join a small, tight-knit, family-run hospital-based practice in Denver as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant , caring for medically complex, often ventilator-dependent adult patients across a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital, acute rehab units, and hospital backup units within area skilled nursing facilities.
Earning $120,000 to $130,000 annually on a full-time schedule (three 12-hour shifts, roughly 14 shifts a month including one weekend), you'll round directly with the supervising physician for a minimum of 3 months before practicing independently, a genuinely mentorship-first culture where several NPs have stayed a decade or more. New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply, with the same structured training investment as experienced hires. What You'll Do Manage a caseload of medically complex, often ventilator-dependent patients across LTAC and hospital backup unit sites Round independently after your mentorship period, looping in physicians and senior NPs as needed Communicate extensively with patients' families, since many patients cannot advocate for themselves Participate in twice-weekly multidisciplinary team rounds and respond to floor questions across the whole unit, not just your own patients Take phone-only call coverage as part of the on-call rotation Travel between facility sites as needed (compensated) Qualifications Licensed (or in process of obtaining licensure by start date) as a Family, Acute Care, or Adult-Gerontology NP, or as a Physician Assistant, in Colorado Genuinely coachable and willing to learn the practice's specific approach, regardless of prior experience level Willing to commit to a minimum 3-month physician-supervised rounding period, and ideally a 2 to 3 year commitment given the training investment involved Comfortable serving a highly diverse patient population, including patients from correctional facilities, with respect and without judgment DEA registration not required to start for new grads, required for experienced NPs Preferred, not required: prior RN or clinical experience in acute/critical care or hospital settings (evaluated case by case) Compensation and Benefits $120,000 to $130,000 base salary, with raises reviewed at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and annually thereafter Medical and dental insurance provided 15 PTO days in year one, with sick time covered without losing PTO (doctor's note needed beyond 2 days) One week of fully paid CME time annually, including airfare, program cost, and a daily meal per diem All licensing, CPR, and ACLS certification costs covered If you want real mentorship, meaningful patient relationships, and a team that invests in you for the long haul, we'd love to hear from you!
