Job Description

Middlesex Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our expanding Adult Outpatient Mental Health Services team. This full-time (40 hours/week) position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. As a Psychiatric APRN, you will have the unique opportunity to support continuity of care across the mental health services continuum. You will be part of a highly supportive clinical and administrative team committed to excellence in patient care and professional growth. Position Highlights Full-time, 40-hour outpatient position Collaborative team environment with experienced behavioral health clinicians and support staff Opportunity to mentor and work alongside Nurse Practitioner students during clinical rotations Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans with an employer match Eligibility for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adult patients Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with state and federal regulations Provide ongoing medication management and psychiatric follow-up care Collaborate with therapists, social workers, primary care providers, and other members of the treatment team Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a patient-centered model of care Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Connecticut APRN license Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or eligibility to obtain certification Experience working with mental health populations in outpatient and/or inpatient settings Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical assessment skills Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and promoting a collaborative work environment
