Prescribe and manage medications for substance use disorder, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), following all DEA regulations and clinical guidelines. Collaborate closely with physicians, counselors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Provide patient education on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications to support sustained recovery. Document all patient encounters accurately within electronic health records (EHR/Epic systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards. Participate in case management activities such as discharge planning, follow-up scheduling, and coordination with community resources for ongoing support. Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care for patients in diverse settings and ensure continuity of treatment. Experience Current Nurse Practitioner license with certification in family practice, adult-gerontology, or behavioral health. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or behavioral health conditions. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management. Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols and familiarity with opioid use disorder pharmacotherapy options. Strong understanding of clinical research methods related to addiction medicine and familiarity with ICD coding for diagnoses. Experience working within collaborative practice agreements under state law to prescribe medications independently. Prior experience in outpatient clinics, community health settings, or telehealth platforms is highly desirable.
