perdiem Role Description Seeking per diem Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join our multi-provider clinical team, primarily providing evening and weekend coverage. This is an on-site position in Newark, Delaware, with no overnight shift requirement. Clinicians evaluate and treat a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries in an advanced urgent care setting. Responsibilities include performing focused histories and physical examinations, developing differential diagnoses and treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, performing common urgent care procedures, providing patient education, and determining appropriate disposition and follow-up. Clinicians have access to extensive in-house resources, including X-ray, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), EKG, point-of-care Chem 8 and troponin testing, as well as an experienced clinical support team. The average clinical volume is approximately 2-3 patients per hour. Scheduling Expectations This position is designed to provide supplemental evening and weekend coverage. Typical shifts include 4:00 PM-12:00 AM and 7:00 PM-11:00 PM, with no overnight requirement. Per diem clinicians are expected to provide approximately: 2 evening shifts per month 1 weekend shift every 3 months Qualifications Current or eligible Delaware licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Current applicable national board certification 2+ years of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care Ability to independently evaluate and manage a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries Experience with common urgent care procedures, including wound care, laceration repair, incision and drainage, and splinting Comfortable ordering and interpreting common urgent care diagnostic studies Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills What We Offer Competitive per diem compensation No overnight shift requirement Flexible evening and weekend scheduling Multi-provider staffing and collaborative physician support 24/7 Extensive in-house diagnostic resources Friendly, team-oriented work environment Company Description Newark 24/7 Urgent Care is an independent, nonprofit urgent care center serving the Newark, Delaware community since 1973.
