Outpatient / Clinical Assessment Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Nurse Practitioner (NP) to conduct disability assessment examinations for U.S. Veterans. This opportunity offers a predictable weekday schedule, excellent work-life balance, and a lower-stress clinical environment. The NP will perform comprehensive, one-time evaluations, review medical records, document clinical findings, and complete electronic assessment reports. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP looking to transition away from traditional high-volume patient care while continuing to utilize their clinical expertise. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive disability assessment examinations for Veterans. Review medical records and relevant clinical documentation prior to evaluations. Obtain medical histories and perform appropriate physical assessments. Document clinical findings accurately using a secure electronic platform. Complete detailed evaluation reports in accordance with established guidelines. Evaluate approximately 2-6 Veterans per day . Maintain professional, compassionate, and respectful interactions with Veterans. Utilize provided technology, training, and ongoing clinical support. Work independently while maintaining accuracy, quality, and timely completion of documentation. Requirements Active Nurse Practitioner license in Iowa (IA). 1-2 years of clinical experience required. Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage scheduled evaluations efficiently. Strong attention to detail and ability to review and interpret medical records. Comfortable using electronic medical records and computer-based documentation systems.
