Alumni Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Mt. Sterling, IL. In this role, you will provide comprehensive primary care to adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting, including assessments, chronic disease management, preventive care, and acute visits. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while accurately documenting in the EMR. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting Conduct histories, physical exams, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans Manage chronic diseases, preventive care, and acute illnesses Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and lab results Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with regulations Document all encounters accurately in the EMR system Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate care Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, quality standards, and safety protocols Adapt to varying practice settings and workflows as a locum provider Required Skills Primary care assessment and diagnosis Chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, COPD) Adult and geriatric patient care Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests Prescribing medications and treatment plans EMR documentation and workflow Patient and family education Care coordination and team-based collaboration Regulatory and compliance knowledge in healthcare Time management in high-volume outpatient settings
