Job Description
Education:
Must have a Master's degree from an accredited School of Nursing. Must assume responsibility for maintaining competence in clinical practice through self and supervisory review, participation in educational activities, maintenance of state licensure, and certification by professional organization.Licensure/Certification:
Must be licensed to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Indiana with authority to prescribe legen drugs, including controlled substances. Must also possess an Indiana Controlled Substances Registration and a Federal Drug Enforcement Administration Registration. Must be current in CPR. Must provide copies of licensure/certification for personnel records including renewals.Experience:
Must have at least one year of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner, either in the nurse practitioner program or since graduation.Mental/Physical Effort:
Duties require attention to detail, initiative and decision-making. Must deal with all types of people in physical and/or mental distress. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and the ability to work irregular hours. Risk of possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic chemicals and/or fumes, and potentially dangerous body fluids.
