Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive clinical background, demonstrating expertise in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across diverse medical settings. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, deliver exceptional patient care, and contribute to innovative health solutions. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for managing a broad scope of clinical duties, including medication management, diagnostic evaluation, and patient education, ensuring the highest standards of healthcare delivery. Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and sterile processing as required by clinical protocols. Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as geriatrics, behavioral health, gastroenterology, infectious disease care, and pain management. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and facilitate referrals when necessary. Provide health coaching, patient education on disease prevention, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications. Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects to enhance healthcare outcomes. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification from an accredited program; licensure must meet state-specific requirements. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU/critical care, or outpatient clinics. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth platforms is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, CPT coding for procedures, ICD coding for diagnoses (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Demonstrated ability to perform advanced procedures such as spinal taps, dermal fillers (nice-to-have), gastrostomy tube feeding management, and sonography techniques. Experience working with special populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator care), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), hospice & palliative medicine, or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous. Critical care experience in settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or sub-acute care environments is highly desirable. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on compassionate care delivery across diverse patient groups including children and seniors.
