Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, with the ability to deliver compassionate care across diverse patient populations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, utilizing advanced clinical skills to improve mental health outcomes while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Duties Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients across various age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses, including psychopharmacology management. Provide psychotherapy and counseling services tailored to patient needs, incorporating evidence-based practices. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other team members to coordinate holistic patient care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times. Experience Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP-BC preferred). Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, or acute care environments such as hospitals or emergency rooms. Proficiency in telehealth platforms and remote patient management tools. Familiarity with clinical research methodologies or participation in mental health studies is advantageous. Experience working within inpatient or outpatient psychiatric units, crisis stabilization centers, or assisted living facilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of medication management including psychotropic medications and CPT coding for billing purposes. Strong understanding of diagnostic evaluation using ICD-10 coding standards and assessment tools for mental health disorders.
