In person; examination office provided Frontera Search is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct in-person Compensation and Pension (C&P) disability examinations for Veterans near Paducah, Kentucky. This is an evaluation-only position with no treatment, prescribing, medication management, or ongoing patient care. Providers typically evaluate approximately four to five Veterans per scheduled day. An examination office is provided, so candidates are not required to maintain their own clinical space. The NP or PA will review relevant medical records, conduct focused physical examinations, complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), and provide medical opinions when requested. Examiners document their objective clinical findings but do not determine Veterans' disability ratings or compensation. Responsibilities Review Veterans' service treatment records, medical histories, and previous examination reports Conduct comprehensive in-person disability examinations Evaluate claimed medical conditions involving multiple body systems Obtain relevant medical, occupational, and functional histories Perform appropriate physical assessments and range-of-motion testing Complete applicable DBQs accurately and thoroughly Provide medical opinions when requested Document examination findings electronically Submit completed reports within established turnaround times Follow all applicable examination, documentation, and privacy protocols Provide professional, compassionate, and respectful service to every Veteran Required Qualifications Must reside within 25 miles of Paducah, KY Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Active, unrestricted NP or PA license Current national certification appropriate to the provider's profession Ability to independently conduct focused medical evaluations involving multiple body systems Strong clinical documentation and computer skills Experience using electronic medical records Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities Availability to conduct in-person examinations three days per week Preferred Qualifications Previous C&P or disability-examination experience Experience working with Veterans or the Department of Veterans Affairs Background in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, occupational medicine, or urgent care Familiarity with DBQs and medical-opinion documentation Why Providers Enjoy This Opportunity Earn up to $700 per day Consistent per-diem schedule of three days per week Average volume of approximately four to five Veterans per day Examination office provided Evaluation-only clinical work No treatment plans or follow-up care No prescribing or medication management No insurance billing Predictable scheduling and patient volume Dedicated administrative and credentialing support Meaningful opportunity to serve Veterans Frontera Search Partners is a boutique healthcare staffing firm committed to supporting providers throughout every stage of an assignment.
