Kenah One Health Care Services is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality psychiatric care to individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring disorders. The PMHNP will assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions through medication management and therapeutic interventions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive client care.
Qualifications:
Must be certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Other psychiatry-related licensure certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing or Maryland Board of Physicians is encouraged to apply. Active DEA registration and ability to prescribe medications in Maryland. Experience providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy. Knowledge of psychopharmacology, evidence-based treatment protocols, and crisis intervention. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) documentation. Ability to work collaboratively in an integrated behavioral health setting. Strong understanding of confidentiality, ethical standards, and state/federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and mental status exams. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with therapists and other healthcare providers. Provide medication management, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting psychotropic medications as needed. Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, medication side effects, and coping strategies. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including therapists, case managers, and medical providers. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as necessary. Stay up to date with best practices in psychiatric care and participate in professional development.
