Competitive hourly or daily contractor rate (based on experience) Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our growing urgent care practice as an independent contractor (1099). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based care for patients of all ages in an urgent care setting while also supporting our medical weight management program. This role requires flexibility to travel between clinic locations based on operational needs and patient demand. ResponsibilitiesUrgent Care Services Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations. Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging. Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and clinical protocols. Perform common urgent care procedures including wound care, suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and other outpatient procedures as appropriate. Provide patient education and follow-up recommendations. Medical Weight Loss Services Conduct obesity and weight-management consultations. Develop individualized treatment plans for weight loss and metabolic health. Prescribe and manage weight-loss medications when clinically appropriate. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Educate patients on nutrition, exercise, lifestyle modification, and long-term wellness strategies. General Responsibilities Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR). Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff. Ensure compliance with clinic policies, state regulations, and evidence-based practice standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts. Travel to assigned clinic locations as needed. Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Current Family Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP-C or FNP-BC). Active and unrestricted state Nurse Practitioner license. Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority. Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred). Minimum 1-2 years of experience in urgent care, family practice, emergency medicine, or related clinical setting preferred. Experience with obesity medicine, weight-loss management, or GLP-1 therapies preferred but not required. Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills. Excellent communication and patient relationship skills. Requirements Ability to work independently in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between clinic locations. Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage as needed. Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain if required for contractor status). Preferred Qualifications Experience with medical weight-loss programs.
