We are currently looking for a full time Advanced Practice Provider to join our team of 30 Physicians and 20 APP's caring for patients at four locations throughout the Greater Lansing Area. Position Summary Responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients, in an outpatient setting. Provides and orders a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Interprets and integrates findings to determine therapeutic management plans for patients with acute and chronic illnesses. Within physician-advanced practice provider relationship, exercise autonomy in medical decision making. Works collaboratively with other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.
Licensing Requirements:
  • Current licensure with the State of Michigan (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner).
  • Current certification in BLS or ACLS.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
Education & Experience Requirements:
Physician Assistant Master of Physician Assistant Studies or Doctorate of Physician Assistant degree National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Experience preferred -OR- Nurse Practitioner Master of Science degree in Nursing Practice or Doctor of Nurse Practice degree Current Nurse Practitioner licensure with current certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) Experience preferred
Essential Functions:
Provides compassionate, professional patient care and performs multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Obtains a complete history of present illness and medical history. Performs a complete physical examination and documents findings. Orders appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies. Initiates referral to specialty care when necessary. Prescribes medications as appropriate, adhering to CIMA's controlled substance policy. Educates the patient and family members regarding medical condition, procedures, and medication as well as preventive measures as necessary and appropriate. Collaborates with physician when necessary in managing the acute and chronic care needs of patients. Performs treatment procedures when necessary (steroid injection, incision & drainage, PAPs, breast exams, wart removal, etc.) Appropriately codes professional services within applicable billing guidelines and regulations. Keeps appraised of clinical quality metrics and strives to achieve metric goals through assessing alerts and ordering recommended preventive care testing.
