We are adding two experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to our team.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role combines clinic-based care with hospital rounding and inpatient endocrine consults.
CLINICAL SCOPE
- Hospital rounding and inpatient endocrine consults: inpatient glycemic management, insulin drip transitions, steroid-induced hyperglycemia, DKA/HHS follow-up, thyroid and adrenal consults, discharge diabetes planning
- Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes: insulin initiation and titration, GLP-1 and SGLT2 management, hypoglycemia management
- Continuous glucose monitors (Dexcom, FreeStyle Libre, Eversense): placement, data download and interpretation, patient training
- Insulin pumps and automated insulin delivery (Omnipod 5, Tandem Control-IQ, Medtronic 780G): initiation, settings adjustment, troubleshooting
Thyroid:
hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto's, Graves' disease, thyroid nodule and thyroid cancer follow-up; ultrasound review and FNA coordination- Osteoporosis and bone health: DEXA interpretation, bisphosphonates, denosumab, anabolic agents
- Adrenal, pituitary and gonadal disorders: workup and follow-up under physician supervision
- PCOS, hyperlipidemia, obesity medicine, prediabetes
- Diabetes technology support and coordination with device and pharmaceutical representatives
- Prior authorizations and clinical documentation in athenahealth

REQUIREMENTS
- Active Michigan NP or PA-C license and DEA (or eligible)
- Inpatient/hospital experience required, including hospital rounding and inpatient glycemic management
- Endocrinology or diabetes management experience required; must be comfortable independently managing CGM data and insulin pump adjustments
- EMR proficiency; athenahealth experience a plus
