This energetic and collaborative position offers the opportunity to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals experiencing primary MH and co-occurring conditions. You will work closely with our other providers and other mental health and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient-centered care in our established outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes and promote wellness across the recovery community. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations. Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and state regulations. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems Practice Fusion for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records. Provide telehealth consultations to expand access for inpatient SUD patients, remote or underserved populations. Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to support recovery. Qualifications Valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in Psychiatry from an accredited program. Current Minnesota state licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner with prescribing authority; DEA registration for controlled substances is required. Demonstrated experience working with behavioral health patients across diverse age groups, including children and geriatrics. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of psychiatric and addiction medications, psychopharmacology, and clinical research methodologies. Experience with acute care settings such as residential treatment patients, hospitals or emergency rooms is highly desirable. Familiarity with diagnostic coding systems including ICD-10/ICD-9 and CPT coding for billing purposes. Excellent client communication skills combined with the ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations and vital signs assessment. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
