Position Summary Infinity Home Care Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide clinical review and medical necessity oversight for behavioral health services. The Nurse Practitioner partners with the agency to verify that clients meet medical necessity criteria based on comprehensive clinical assessments, person-centered treatment plans, and case staffing information when needed. The NP is responsible for the timely review, approval, and signature of treatment plans and related clinical documentation to help ensure compliance with payer requirements, state regulations, and agency standards. This position works collaboratively with therapists, Qualified Professionals, and administrative staff to promote coordinated, high-quality behavioral health services. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Review comprehensive clinical assessments and person-centered treatment plans to determine and confirm medical necessity for behavioral health services. Review and sign initial treatment plans and treatment-plan updates as appropriate. Ensure treatment goals, interventions, and service frequencies are clinically appropriate and supported by available documentation. Verify documentation supports the requested level and type of behavioral health service. Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and case staffing as needed. Collaborate with therapists, Qualified Professionals, care team members, and administrative staff. Support continuity and coordination of care. Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect all confidential client information and protected health information. Assist with utilization review, quality improvement activities, audits, and compliance reviews. Identify documentation concerns or clinical inconsistencies and communicate needed corrections to appropriate staff. Complete reviews and signatures within required agency and payer deadlines. Maintain professional communication with internal staff and external partners. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong understanding of medical necessity criteria within behavioral health services. Knowledge of person-centered treatment planning. Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral health interventions and treatment modalities. Familiarity with payer requirements, state regulations, and behavioral health documentation standards. Ability to review clinical assessments, treatment plans, and related documentation with strong attention to detail. Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills. Strong understanding of HIPAA confidentiality and privacy requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with therapists, Qualified Professionals, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to complete clinical review and authorization responsibilities independently and within established deadlines.

Qualifications Candidates must have:

Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current national Nurse Practitioner certification. Active NPI. Experience with behavioral health, mental health, community-based services, or clinical documentation review preferred. Experience with Medicaid or managed-care documentation requirements preferred. Strong knowledge of medical necessity and clinical treatment planning. Licenses or Certifications Required by Statute or Regulation Valid North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Valid North Carolina Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in good standing. Valid North Carolina Driver's License in good standing. Current CPR and First Aid certification . Must maintain all required professional licenses and certifications throughout employment or the contractual relationship. Expected to comply with all applicable requirements, rules, regulations, and standards established by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and other governing or regulatory bodies applicable to the position. Work Schedule This position offers a flexible schedule . Clinical review and documentation tasks may be completed virtually or in person as long as required deadlines are consistently met. Work Environment This position operates in a hybrid environment , allowing the Nurse Practitioner to work remotely and/or from the agency office as needed. Most responsibilities involve review of clinical documentation, communication with agency staff, and completion of required approvals and signatures. Compensation Compensation will be discussed based on experience, workload, and contractual arrangement.
