Job Description
You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive urgent care services to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and perform procedures such as suturing and wound care. This role demands excellent clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Provide walk-in urgent care to patients of all ages Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries Order and interpret onsite laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs Perform suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, wound care, and women's health exams Determine appropriate treatment plans, referrals, transfers, and patient dispositions Collaborate with onsite clinical and support staff Complete timely and accurate documentation using Experity and AI-assisted charting Qualifications Board-certified NP or PA Active DEA registration without restrictions Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Active, unrestricted New Hampshire APRN license preferred Proficient in suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and wound care Experience Minimum of two years of recent urgent care or emergency medicine experience Experience with Experity or similar urgent care EMR preferred Skills Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills Comfortable treating patients of all ages, including pediatric and adult populations Able to work independently in a fast-paced, walk-in urgent care environment Additional Requirements Willing and able to float between assigned regional clinic locations Flexibility to work weekends Schedule/Shift Three 12.5-hour shifts per week Approximately 37.5 hours per week Four weekend shifts required per month No call responsibilities Clinics operate seven days per week Facility Type Urgent Care Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances). Health Benefits / Dental / Vision (Medix offers 6 different health plans: 3 Major Medical Plans, 2 Fixed Indemnity Plans (Standard and Preferred), and 1 Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plan. Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)). 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
