Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a collaborative outpatient team in Hackensack, New Jersey, covering a leave of absence on a full-time locum tenens basis. You'll be working with an established cardiac surgery program in a supportive setting.
Compensation:
$125 per hour Schedule and Setting Monday-Friday, four 10-hour shifts per week (rotating day off) Outpatient-only assignment What you'll do Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients See about 10 patients per day Perform minor postoperative procedures such as wound debridement and wound packing placement Work closely with cardiac surgeons and other advanced practice providers to ensure smooth continuity of care Team and Support Practice alongside 5 cardiac surgeons and 5 outpatient advanced practice providers Coordinate with the inpatient NP/PA team as needed Supported by clerical coordinators, scheduling staff, certified medical assistants (CMAs), an office supervisor, and an office manager Clinical oversight and collaboration with the Clinical APN Manager Qualifications NP or PA with cardiac surgery experience Active New Jersey license Current DEA and CDS registration Prior experience managing cardiac surgery patients in an outpatient or surgical practice preferred If you thrive in a team-focused outpatient environment and have cardiac surgery experience, this is a great opportunity to step in and make an immediate impact.
