You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluations resulting in thorough assessment and diagnosis using DSM-V criteria, and developing comprehensive interdisciplinary and multimodality treatment plans that include prescribing of medications according to FDA guidelines, assisting with linkage to a psychotherapist and case manager if needed, providing psychoeducation to the client, and other general health maintenance needs. Must thoroughly complete documentation in a timely manner.
What You Will Do:
Deliver care to clients within the scope of certification and comfort level Assess, diagnose, and treat, acute and chronic mental illnesses Offer basic supportive psychotherapy, as needed Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner Prescribe psychiatric medications and monitors for efficacy and side effects Order lab and diagnostic testing as appropriate, documents results, and refers to outside physicians as needed Monitor health status of clients (e.g. monitors trends in PHQ-9 scores over time, reviews status of chronic medical conditions as it relates to prescribing psychotropic medications) Provide psycho-education and wellness related services (e.g. nicotine cessation, primary care follow-up etc.) Work as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, including attending team meetings, presenting updates on clients' status, and helps develop multidisciplinary treatment plan Seek diagnostic and treatment guidance from collaborating physician, as needed Ensure that client records are maintained and updated, kept confidential consistent with the Agency policies and procedures and HIPAA standards. See:
MSN from an accredited school of nursing One (1) year of experience working with a children (including during APN's training) Current and valid NJ RN License with a current valid
NJ PMHNP
certification Current and valid NJ APN License Current and valid ANCC certification (or board-eligible with contingency of obtaining board-certified within three years of hire date) Current and valid CDS Current and valid Federal DEA Current and valid CPR/AED (BLS) certification Current and valid driver's license and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance
