Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description
Responsibilities Performs psychiatric evaluations, comprehensive health assessments, medication monitoring, and psycho-education Work as part of the staff team in a short term crisis outpatient program Utilizes a wide range of treatment modalities with consumers Must be able to adhere to the program's standards for maintaining accurate and up to date electronic charts Works collaboratively with psychiatrist according to joint service agreements.
