Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
  • Intensive Crisis Unit Full-Time (40 hours per week)

904 East Church Street, Suite A, Elmira, NY 14901 CASA-Trinity is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join our Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC) . The PNP provides comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals experiencing acute mental health and substance use crises using a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered approach. This position plays a key role in helping individuals achieve stabilization while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team. 00 per hour Essential Responsibilities Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and ongoing medication management. Diagnose and treat individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications and Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) in accordance with New York State regulations. Conduct crisis psychiatric evaluations, assess suicide and safety risks, and determine the appropriate level of care. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, nurses, counselors, peer specialists, care managers, and community providers. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, case consultations, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Educate patients and families on medications, treatment options, recovery, wellness, and relapse prevention. Maintain timely, accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with OMH, OASAS, DOH, DEA, Medicaid, HIPAA, and agency standards. Respond to psychiatric emergencies and coordinate transfers to higher levels of care when clinically appropriate. Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current New York State license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and unrestricted Registered Nurse license. Current DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances. Two years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred. Experience in crisis stabilization, emergency psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, integrated behavioral health, or treating individuals with co-occurring disorders strongly preferred. Experience with Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) preferred. Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Valid New York State driver's license. Work Environment This position is based within CASA-Trinity's 24-hour Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center , where you'll work alongside an interdisciplinary team providing immediate assessment, stabilization, medication management, and treatment planning for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies.
