Job Title:
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. The nurse practitioner would provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage medications, and offer ongoing follow-up care to support clients' mental health and wellness. The ideal candidate is skilled in clinical assessment, empathetic communication, and evidence-based psychiatric care. This position is per diem and the nurse practitioner would provide virtual appointments remotely.
Responsibilities:
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health disorders and illnesses Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families Prescribe and manage medications as needed Provide counseling to patients Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and practice standards. Stay current with best practices, research, and guidelines in psychiatric and psychopharmacological care. Qualifications Active and unrestricted PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) license. Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in psychiatry or behavioral health is preferred. Current DEA license and prescribing authority. Strong clinical judgement, interpersonal communication, and documentation skills. Comfortable using telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR). Empathetic, professional, and client-centered approach to care.
