What they do
A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description
Opportunities include:
Outpatient psychiatric care at our Patchogue office- Psychiatric care in nursing homes and assisted living communities
- A combination of outpatient and facility-based psychiatry
- Flexible part-time scheduling with the opportunity for additional hours as the practice grows Providers who prefer primarily outpatient work are welcome to apply; facility work is not required. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits
- Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions
- Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric care
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, facility staff, and other members of the care team
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care Qualifications Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
- Appropriate prescribing authority and DEA registration
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Dependable and comfortable working collaboratively within a growing practice
- Prior psychiatric practice experience preferred; experienced PMHNPs are strongly encouraged to apply Why Join North Ocean Serenity?

$85-$115 per hour, based on experience and clinical setting- Flexible scheduling
