In person at the provider's office Frontera Search is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct Compensation and Pension (C&P) disability examinations for Veterans. Candidates must reside within 100 miles of Trumansburg, New York, and have access to their own suitable clinical office where examinations can be performed. This is an evaluation-only position with no ongoing patient care, treatment, medication management, or prescribing. Providers conduct focused medical assessments, complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), and provide medical opinions when requested. Examiners document their clinical findings but do not determine Veterans' disability ratings or compensation. Responsibilities Review service treatment records, medical histories, and previous examination reports Conduct thorough, in-person disability examinations involving multiple body systems Complete applicable DBQs and requested medical opinions Document examination findings accurately using an electronic platform Order or interpret diagnostic testing when clinically indicated and within the provider's scope of practice Submit completed examination documentation within 24-48 hours Follow established procedures if a medical or behavioral health emergency arises Provide compassionate, professional, and respectful service to every Veteran Required Qualifications Must reside within 100 miles of Trumansburg, NY Must have access to a suitable clinical office where Veterans can be examined Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Active, unrestricted NP or PA license Current national certification appropriate to the provider's profession Ability to independently perform focused medical evaluations across multiple body systems Experience using electronic medical records Strong clinical documentation and computer skills Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities Preferred Experience Previous C&P or disability-examination experience Experience working with Veterans or the Department of Veterans Affairs Background in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, occupational medicine, or urgent care Why Providers Enjoy This Opportunity Competitive compensation of $700-$750 per day Compensation may be negotiable based on experience Evaluation-only clinical work No treatment plans or follow-up care No medication management or prescribing No insurance billing Predictable scheduling and patient volume Dedicated administrative and credentialing support Meaningful opportunity to serve Veterans Frontera Search Partners is a boutique healthcare staffing firm that provides transparent communication, streamlined credentialing, and ongoing support throughout each assignment.
