Job Description
You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to collaborate directly with a primary Attending Surgeon, providing specialized surgical care. The role involves conducting comprehensive pre-operative consultations, evaluations, and patient workups, as well as performing post-operative patient follow-ups and management. Key Responsibilities Collaborate directly with the primary Attending Surgeon as a clinical partner in delivering high-volume, specialized surgical care. Conduct comprehensive pre-operative consultations, evaluations, and patient workups. Perform post-operative patient follow-ups and management (2nd, 3rd, and 4th post-op visits). Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation and patient notes to facilitate care coordination, scheduling, and billing. Manage patient care pathways for local, national, and international patients, including care coordination and travel timelines. Manage independent patient panels, oversee medical assistants/clinical support staff, and provide after-hours/weekend telephone coverage as needed. Qualifications Licensed Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP). Experience Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a surgical, orthopedic, or specialty clinical practice setting. Proven track record of diligent, timely medical documentation and clinical note completion. Skills Demonstrated professional maturity, direct communication skills, and high emotional intelligence (EQ). Specialized surgical or neurosurgical clinical experience (preferred). Experience coordinating care for out-of-state or international traveling patients (preferred). Experience in private practice or high-volume specialty surgical centers (preferred). Additional Requirements Full-Time (4-5 days per week); opportunity for evening/weekend call coverage for higher compensation tiers.
