Supervised By:
Chief Program Officer As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Syntero, you will serve as a licensed nurse practitioner managing mental health care for clients across the lifespan. Working in close collaboration with our psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team, you will provide compassionate, high-quality psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and ongoing medication management in accordance with state and federal standards.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program.
Licensure & Certifications:
Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area and active licensure in the State of Ohio. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider cards (PALS as required).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of psychiatric and mental health nursing experience required; 2+ years of experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred.
Technical & Core Skills:
Strong computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EHR systems); ability to foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct age-appropriate psychiatric assessments and histories for children, adolescents, and adults referred by agency staff and community partners. Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care plans; order and interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate. Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions to support patient psychiatric stability, ensuring OARRS database monitoring and documentation per legal standards. Maintain an active Collaborative Practice Agreement with a collaborating physician in compliance with Ohio state law. Exercise independent clinical discretion while collaborating with multidisciplinary team members through HIPAA-compliant communication. Assist in developing policies and procedures for medical components of care, quality assurance, and service evaluation; regularly attend Psychiatric Department meetings. Maintain accurate, timely client records in accordance with State, Federal, CARF, and agency guidelines.
