In this vital role, you will provide expert dermatological care, perform comprehensive skin assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans for a diverse patient population. Duties Conduct thorough skin examinations, including visual assessments and patient history reviews, to diagnose dermatological conditions. Administer treatments such as dermal fillers, botulinum toxin (Botox) injections, esthetic laser procedures, and other cosmetic interventions. Manage complex cases involving acute pain, infections, or chronic skin disorders by coordinating care with physicians and specialists. Perform minor procedures including suturing, biopsy collection, and cryotherapy using sterile techniques. Educate patients on skin health, treatment options, and post-procedure care while promoting preventative practices. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with clinical research initiatives related to dermatology advancements and participate in telehealth consultations to expand access to care. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in dermatology preferred; current state licensure required. Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in Epic, Athenahealth, or similar EMR/EHR systems. Demonstrated expertise in botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, esthetic laser procedures, and suture techniques. Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is highly desirable; experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to skin and physiology, CPT coding for procedures, ICD coding for diagnoses (ICD-9/10). Proficiency in performing IV infusions, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and specimen collection; familiarity with infection control protocols. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to triage urgent dermatological issues effectively. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric patients, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous. Additional qualifications include telehealth experience, knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational skin injuries, and familiarity with insurance documentation processes.
