SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Provides care of hospitalized patients and has full control of a patient throughout their entire shift. Current BLS and ACLS Required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
(S): Master's degree in Nursing Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment Basic Life Support (BLS)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Critical thinking Excellent communication skills Ability to complete comprehensive physical exam, diagnose and formulate a medical management plan Ability to collaborate with attending physician
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Hospitalist or acute care setting preferred 2 years experience preferred
