The PMHNP will work on Part time basis while building their caseload and transition to full-time. Starting date will be within 60-90 days of signing contracts. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Overview:
We currently have a position open for a certified Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with prior experience treating psychiatric patients of all ages in the outpatient setting. Office hours are between 8 AM and 7 PM Monday-Saturday. No evenings or on-call. Fridays and Saturdays are optional depending on providers' availability. We will begin with one full day per week and increase gradually as your census grows.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Requirements:
At the time of application, you must hold a current and unrestricted NP furnishing license in the state of CA MUST have a current DEA that is valid in CA MUST have own malpractice insurance MUST be certified in psychiatry/mental health at the time of applying MUST have a current NPI number in your name (not corporate) MUST have not opted out of seeing MediCare patients MUST have no history of malpractice - We only contract with Board Certified providers with no hits on the National Database MUST be comfortable treating children and adults MUST be comfortable seeing new patients regularly and devising diagnosis and treatment plan with minimal supervision Must speak fluent English Bilingual is a plus
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:
Formulate initial diagnosis and create/continue treatment plans for children, adolescents, and adults Obtain informed consent and provide medication management for patients Complete paperwork related to clinical progress of patients seen by the practice, including but not limited to disability forms, etc. Facilitate client referrals to appropriate practitioners, health facilities, and resources Focus on medication management with the option to practice psychotherapy Keep up-to-date and accurate electronic medical records on your patients Train and work with other staff members to provide the best patient care possible Be willing to grow with the company by continuing ongoing psychiatric education

2 year experience as a PMHNP is preferred, but not required New Graduates are welcome to apply Prescribing psychiatric medications to patients of all ages (including children and adolescents) Psychotherapy and ability to provide integrated sessions is preferred.
